๐Ÿ“ค Step 1: Upload Your Card Image

This tool makes one side's texture per run — front or back — matching CARD.Texture / CARD.RearTexture. Run it twice to get a complete card.

  • Required size: exactly 512x512 pixels (uploads of any other size are rejected)
  • Your art should already be positioned in the top-left corner, sized to your card's CardSize preset — 372x512 for the default Common size, 351x512 for Japanese (see the size table in Configuring a Collectible Card) — with the rest of the canvas left blank
  • This is exactly what the tutorial's card-template-front.pdn / card-template-back.pdn templates set up for you
  • Format: PNG (with or without transparency)
  • The uploaded image will be used as the base for creating the holographic effect

PNG files only

โœจ Step 2: Define Holographic Areas

Adjust the settings to create an alpha mask that determines which parts will be holographic.

  • White areas = fully holographic (shiny)
  • Black areas = no holographic effect
  • Gray areas = partial holographic effect

Quick Presets

Choose a preset to quickly generate a mask, then switch to Automatic or Manual tabs to fine-tune.

๐Ÿ’พ Step 3: Export This Side's Texture

Preview the final result and download as a VTF file for use in Card Engine.

  • The alpha mask has been applied to your card image
  • Transparent areas will appear holographic in-game
  • The file will be exported in RGBA8888 format (best quality with alpha channel)

Match this to your card's CARD.Texture / CARD.RearTexture field. Example: card_prop_killer for the front, card_prop_killer_back for the back.

This downloads one texture. If you haven't made the other side yet, click Start Over below and repeat this flow for it, saving it under whichever of CARD.Texture / CARD.RearTexture applies.
